Bøur and Gásadalur, Vágar

During the period 16-23 September 2019 we visited the Faroe Islands together with Anne Grete Harlou, who shared all her experiences and knowledge on the islands with us.

We had rented a house in Stykkið close to Leynar on Streymoy, where Anne Grete and Bjørn lived during their more than 15 year stay. From the house we had a panoramic view towards Koltur and Hestur.

After the arrival and having received the rented car, we spent some time on Vágar visiting both Bøur and Gásadalur in full sunshine. From Bøur and Gásadalur we had a panoramic view towards Tindhólmur and Mykines. Bøur is a typical Faroese village with black houses and roofs covered by gras.

Before arriving at our destination in Stykkið, we went shopping, and to our big surprise, neither fresh, nor frozen lamb and fish were available!

During our stay the weather determined the day program!
